Jonathan + Katie Wedding | Great Marsh Estate, Bealeton, VA

Today's blog features Jonathan and Katie's elegant September wedding at the Great Marsh Estate in Bealeton, VA.

Let me tell you about these two and their wedding day celebration! First off, I love them (but we already knew that from their engagement session). But seeing/meeting their families and friends... amazing! These people were the best wedding guests! Growing up around the Rumbaugh family, I had known that they were a fun crew, but I didn't know about Katie's wonderful family (plus her extended dance family). Katie and Jonathan were surrounded by so many special people on this day, people who could not be more excited to celebrate their union. The overflowing amount of support and love that we saw at their wedding was a beautiful thing, and we are so thankful for that opportunity to capture it in photos and on video.

Something I loved about Jonathan and Katie's wedding day was how well it reflected their relationship. From the place to the people, to the decorations, and festivities, it was the complete Jonathan and Katie celebration. Let's start with the venue. The Great Marsh Estate was the perfect spot for the day's events. Between the great location, the stunning architecture, and the beautiful landscaping, it was wonderful! This Georgian Manor House, and the property as a whole. is a piece of art! The tree lines reminded me of photos from their proposal at Brookgreen Gardens, a botanical garden (and one of Katie's favorite spots) in South Carolina.

The Manor at The Great Marsh Estate was a great place for their wedding party. The upstairs was a spacious, light-filled area, perfect for girls' prep, while the downstairs groom's suite held a cool hangout area complete with a bar and pool table.

LOVE these shots with Katie's mom, Debbie! Aren't these ladies stunning?!

We love a good staircase!

I loved that Jonathan's nephew got ready with all the groomsmen! What a stud!

Such a sweet father-daughter first look between Perry and Katie.

Next, the people. Like I said, Katie and Jonathan love and are loved by so many. Different parts of their day featured some of their closest loved ones. Their ceremony was officiated by Jonathan's brother-in-law, Nick. Their nieces and nephews were their flower girls and ring bearers.

Liz, of Liz and Co. Events, designed and planned this stunning day. The details and decorations were spectacular, and the day was so well coordinated. We loved working alongside her and this team of vendors!

The Atoka String Quartet filled the air with beautiful music throughout the ceremony.

Can we just take a second for this picture above? First off, my heart sings! Second, KATHY!!! These two are the freshest!

Nick got his son to walk to him/the pacifier! Hahaha a job well done!

We loved Jonathan's reaction to him seeing his bride come down the aisle!

Katie's facial expressions were everything! I wish every bride was as animated as Katie was during their ceremony.

THE FIRST KISS DIP! AMAZING!

Introducing the new Mr. and Mrs. Rumbaugh!

Portrait time!

Look at that happy groom! I love that picture so much!

Love these wonderful families!

Down a tree-lined driveway from The Manor House were the outdoor cocktail hour and the reception hall, at The Stables. The historical reception hall featured bright white walls, starlights, and rustic wooden beams.

Flowers and greenery filled the space from every direction. And OH MY GOODNESS, talk about a transformation of the space. It was like walking through a star-lit garden. Knowing about Katie's fondness of the botanical garden, decorating the space in such a way was another perfect piece of this couple's wedding day.

During set up, the florists at The Floral Palette shared with us her excitement in decorating the hall. She really appreciated the creative freedom Katie and Jonathan had given her with the reception decorations. Jean and her team knocked this out of the park!

Their reception featured a surprise performance by Katie's dance family. Jonathan's sisters also surprised Jonathan with a personalized song/dance.

Jonathan and Katie told us that one of the most important things to them was that they could dance as much as possible and that their loved ones had a fun time. Thankfully, Mario from the DC DJs kept the party going strong. This dance floor was our best of the year, so far!

After their sparkler exit, Katie and Jonathan headed back into the hall for one last dance. This was a private dance just meant for the two of them.

It was the perfect ending to their perfect wedding day.

If there was one thing I noticed the most about Katie and Jonathan. it was how much fun they have together. They truly married their best friend, and it is so beautiful watching them bring so much joy to one another. When I asked Katie how she was feeling before the ceremony, she told me that she was not nervous at all! She was so ready and so excited to finally marry Jonathan. Thank you two for giving us the opportunity to capture that love. We hope you can enjoy these memories forever and never forget the joy you bring each other and so many others. We love you!

Thank you to all of the vendors that we got to work alongside. We are so thankful to have worked amongst such a talented team!
