Walt + Kayte Wedding | Warriors Mark Fire Hall

One thing that I have especially loved about photographing and videotaping weddings, is the opportunity it gives us to catch up with people from the past. I knew Kayte in high school, but I believe her mom remembered me from when Kayte and I played soccer together back in the day! Regardless of how far back we go, I was so excited to get an email from her telling us about her and her fiancé! Kayte was always kindhearted, and when we started emailing again, I realized that that hasn't changed. Every interaction that I had with Kayte was a pleasant one! Her emails were always joyful, super appreciative, and genuine. Plus, her communication skills are amazing! Somehow, even during work, she would respond so promptly! Anyway, when we met Walt, I wasn't surprised that he was also super friendly and genuine! Not only did we take a liking to Walt's welcoming personality, but we especially loved seeing the way he loves Kayte.

Kayte and Walt met in April of 2015 while working together at Weis Markets. After Walt's first day working at the store, one of his friends asked if there were any cute girls, to which Walt responded, saying that the HR girl (Kayte) was cute. Although Walt's friend discouraged him from seeing anyone from HR, their interest in each other prevailed, and the two started dating in January of 2016.

In September of 2017, Kayte and Walt were planning a Labor Day weekend picnic. Walt sent Kayte to get her nails done after work (smart man), while Walt went grocery shopping. Once he got home from the store, he asked Kayte for help unloading the trunk. Upon opening the trunk she was surprised with roses and turned around to the sight of Walt on one knee!

Kayte and Walt planned a September wedding in Warriors Mark, PA, the place where Kayte grew up and the place they plan on building their first home together. On the day of the wedding, the backroads and open fields were beautifully decorated in fall colors and the sun lit up the rooms and halls of the Warriors Mark United Methodist Church.

My Mom looked over my shoulder as Catherine and I reviewed Kayte and Walt's photos. Every time a photo of Kayte popped up my Mom would exclaim, "WOW! She is a beautiful girl!" #Truth!

Walt's smile and laugh are contagious! Love this portrait of him!

I LOVE his reaction! (I think Walt agrees with my Mom. Kayte looked STUNNING!)

Look at these proud parents (and Kayte and Walt's dog/Flower Girl, Remi)!

If Kayte's MOH, Hope, could come with us to every wedding, I think we would have the PERFECT dress fluff/layout in every picture. Their whole wedding party was tops.

Mr. and Mrs. Derhammer!!

Throughout the whole day you could see how important family was to both Kayte and Walt. They both seem to come from such wonderful families, and we felt so blessed to celebrate with them!

Shoutout to Remi, who was SO well behaved throughout the mass and pictures!

After this celebration, Catherine and I loaded up the car. As we left, we talked about our only regret...not being able to hug everyone goodbye. Kayte and Walt, you have surrounded yourself with some amazing people. Thank you all for making us feel like part of the family on your big day!

Thank you also to the amazing team of vendors that we got to work alongside on this amazing wedding day!

LOVE!

Samantha
